When God Says, "It's Time to Move"

Girl, you better move......
There’s a stirring in my spirit that I can’t ignore.
God is calling me to pivot — to leave something familiar and step into something new. I don’t doubt that this is His will; He’s confirmed it again and again in quiet moments of prayer and reflection. But between this moment of obedience and the completion of what He’s showing me lies a road full of questions and uncertainty.
If you’ve ever been there — standing on the edge of what was and what will be — you understand the tension.
There’s excitement about what’s ahead, but also grief about what must end. For me, this transition feels like pruning. Just when my current work was flourishing, God said, “I now need you over here.”
I could almost see it — “here” — the place He showed me in a vision years ago. I just didn’t know getting there would require letting go of something I loved.
Wisdom From A Friend
Years ago, a wise friend gave me advice that’s carried me through many seasons: “Hold everything God gives you with an open hand.” It’s tempting to cling tightly to what’s working, what’s growing, what feels secure. But when my hands are closed, I'm learning that God can’t place anything new in them.
In John 15, Jesus reminds us that the Father is the Gardener — pruning every branch that bears fruit so it will bear even more. Pruning doesn’t mean failure; it’s God’s way of positioning us for greater fruitfulness.
I think about Abraham, who left his home not knowing where he was going, simply trusting that God would guide him step by step. I think about the disciples who dropped their fishing nets when Jesus said, “Follow Me.” And I think about Elijah, who was led from one brook to another, each time depending on God’s direction for provision and purpose.
Each of them experienced a divine pivot — a moment where obedience required movement. None of them had all the details, but they had something far greater: the assurance of God’s presence.
That’s where I am right now friends — trusting God in the transition. Believing that even in uncertainty, His pruning is purposeful. I KNOW God has my back (front and sides too!)
My Encouragement to You

Maybe you’re standing in a similar place. You feel God nudging you to shift, to release, to move — but fear screams, “What if this doesn’t work?”
Can I encourage you?
God will not prune what He doesn’t intend to grow!
The same God who called you out is faithful to lead you in.
So I’m choosing to rest in His character, not my comfort. I don't have all of the answers, but I know that I am going to keep my hands and heart open, trusting that what’s ahead will produce even more fruit for His glory.
